HAPPY EASTER!!!
Submitted by Lindsay on Sun, 04/04/2010 - 8:18pmParker had a nice Easter today. Although we are still in the hospital we has able to visit with grandma Cheryl and Luisa and grandpa Bob and Wally. He also had a quick visit from uncle Ian and aunt Sara. He was a in a great mood today and has lots of fun playing with everyone!
It has been a pretty crazy week for us, we have been back and forth from the new and old house bringing things over and then we fianlly had the big move yesterday. We're excited to be in but it's a little overwhelming. My parents and I spent the first night at the new house last night. It was little strange since Dustin and Parker couldn't be there, so I am looking forward to our first night there altogether.
We're Back :(
Submitted by Lindsay on Thu, 04/01/2010 - 3:52pmWell, yesterday was Parker's 1 month transplant anniversary and unfortunately we were re-admitted to the hospital. On Tuesday night he had fevers in the middle of the night and on Wednesday early morning we went to the ER. They have identified he has 2 types of infections in his urine. They were able to get the fevers down today but we are still waiting to hear what the next step is. We will keep you posted.
Wow...
Submitted by Lindsay on Fri, 03/19/2010 - 11:26amI’m alive and well but still a slow moving vehicle. This was more painful than I anticipated. My stay in the hospital was long and hard because I wasn’t able to see much of Parker or Dustin, but I had a lot of visitors to keep me company so I thank you all for that.
When Parker moved up to my floor I was amazed to see how fast he recovered from the surgery. He was kicking and rolling around and I could barely walk over to his room visit for 15 minutes. I miss the joy of picking him up and snuggling with him but I know when the day comes it’s going to be so great!
39 days...
Submitted by Lindsay on Sat, 01/23/2010 - 5:44pmWell here we are again apologizing for not making an update but a lot has happened in the past 10 days. Parker and I were sick all week last week which has continued into this week as well. I am finally feeling better and Parker is getting over pneumonia. He is doing much better than last week and he’s beginning to act like himself again.
We were also back to the urologist to follow up the stretching of his bladder and found that Parker is urinating every 5 minutes. The doctor’s decided to remove his Suprapubic Tube as is was too risky for infection. They said his bladder still could stretch once he has his kidney otherwise they always have the option of building a bladder after he is transplanted. The urologist said they learned what they needed to from the tube and he recommended moving forward with the transplant.
"The Foley Catheter"
Submitted by Lindsay on Wed, 11/04/2009 - 8:54pmWell the dreaded day had come and we were off to the urologist this afternoon. The goal was to teach Dustin and I how to place a Foley catheter, fill Parker's bladder and begin stretching it out. Since his bladder has never held any urine it is very tiny. It wasn't a great day.
